Everyone Is Psychic, Everyone Is a Medium: Here's What I Really Believe

Can I share something I feel really passionately about?

You've probably seen it, in posts, articles, books, the idea that everyone is psychic but not everyone is a medium, and then in the very next breath the same source will say "but we can all connect with our loved ones in spirit."

And I just think, well, which is it?

I say that with so much love, by the way. This is just my take, and I know not everyone will agree with me, and that is completely fine. We are all on our own path with this.

We All Have The Capability

Here is what I genuinely believe in my heart. We are all born with the capability to be a doctor. A brain surgeon. A singer. An actor. The potential is there in every single one of us. But not all of us train it, develop it, or feel called to walk that particular path. What differs is whether we answer that call and put in the work.

Mediumship is exactly the same. Just with a considerably more outrageous job description.

Mediums Specialise, Just Like Doctors Do

And just like doctors, mediums specialise. A GP does something very different to a brain surgeon. A surgeon does something very different to a psychiatrist. They are all doctors, but they each work in their own way, with their own tools, in their own area.

Mediumship is no different. Some mediums work with tarot cards. Some with oracle cards. Some use dowsing rods or pendulums. Some bring messages from loved ones in spirit. Some do all of the above. Some only do one thing and they do it extraordinarily well. There is no right or wrong. There is just what works for that particular person.

For me, my main work is bringing messages from loved ones in spirit. That is where I feel most at home. I do use cards, but only if they naturally flow within a session. On investigations I use rods and pendulums, though even there I am still learning how my own channel works best. On my last investigation I found it really difficult holding the rods myself, nothing was flowing, but when someone else held them and I spoke to them directly it worked perfectly. Even after everything I have experienced, I am still learning. And I think that is a beautiful thing.

It Is Not A Competition

I believe we are all psychic. And I believe we are all mediums. Every single one of us carries that capability. For some it comes through stronger or earlier. For me it arrived completely uninvited, in the most unexpected places, in a way I absolutely did not plan for, hence the name of the book.

Mediumship is not a competition or a hierarchy. You could have ten mediums in a room and one might receive something extraordinary, another might get a small fragment, another might get nothing at all that day. That is not about ability or worth. It is simply about whether spirit chooses that person in that moment to deliver that particular message. We are all just pieces of a picture. None more important than the other.

The Honest Truth About The Money Side

And here is something else I want to be honest about. Because this is a job, a fascinating, special, completely outrageous, how is this my life kind of job, but it is also, in my experience, one of the least financially rewarding jobs there is.

I am not saying that for sympathy. I am saying it because I think people assume mediums are making a fortune and honestly, most of us aren't. This is a caring role. A deeply human role. The reward is not monetary. It is the healing. The moment someone's shoulders drop because they know their person is still with them. That is why I do this.

I have always said, if someone is grieving deeply and really struggling financially, am I genuinely going to put a price on that? In my heart, no. I would love to offer free readings again. I did for a long time. But when things are free, some people don't take them seriously. I had so many no shows, people not turning up, or treating it as something to laugh about. And that is not fair, not to the people who genuinely need this, and not to me either.

So I had to make a change. It wasn't a decision I made lightly.

What I will always do is this, if I book a session with someone and spirit gives me nothing to work with, I refund them. Every time, without question. I never want anyone to walk away feeling robbed or scammed. That matters to me more than anything.

It is not a competition. It is not a hierarchy. It is just a job, the weirdest, most wonderful, most unexpected job, done with as much love and integrity as I can possibly give.
